Augusto Beato, CEO of Portland SEO, welcomed news that the viewing platform for the Multnomah Falls has been reopened to the public.

The reopening was announced by the Columbia River Gorge Forest Service.
The lower-falls viewing platform was closed down last September after the Eagle Creek fire caused damages to the rock wall that normally keeps the area secure from falling objects.
"The risks of getting injured by falling rocks and trees didn't stop selfie-seekers from entering the closure area," said Beato.
The site, which the US Forest Service (USFS) says is one of the area's most popular, attracting "millions of visitors each year" is one of few to re-open after last summer's fire that covered over 40,000 acres.
The fenced-off area was declared hazardous due to damage to the rock wall that normally keeps the area secure from falling objects.
"The new fence will protect visitors on the platform from trees or rocks that may fall from the hillside," the Gorge Forest Service announced. "The U.S. Forest Service also hired contractors to fell hazard trees and conduct rock scaling, measures which will limit the amount of dangerous debris that can fall unexpectedly."
Tourists have been bypassing closure signs to get to a view of Multnomah Falls and risk a 300.00 dollars fine.
Government agencies have warned that venturing into those trail areas that are still closed could result in a criminal trespassing charge.
The nearby Multnomah Falls Lodge has been open since November, but protection against landslides was needed to make the viewing platform safe again.
