Bow Wow Luau Benefits Dogs and Cats in Sarasota, Florida Area

On May 22, 2016, Bayside Pet Resort of Osprey will host Bow Wow Luau, a fund raiser benefiting the dogs and cats of Satchel’s Last Resort Inc. The Hawaiian-themed event is sponsored by Wilde Honda of Sarasota, Sarasotadog.com, and Bayside Pet Resort of Osprey. It will be held at Bayside’s new pet boarding, grooming, and dog training facility located at 718 S Tamiami Trail in Osprey, Florida. Pet lovers, from Sarasota south to North Port are invited to attend between 4PM and 7PM.

Satchel’s Last Resort – a Haven For Unwanted Dogs and Cats

Satchel’s Last Resort Inc.is a Sarasota, Florida “no-kill” shelter, founded by Paige Knoedel, and named after Satchel, their first rescue dog. The mission of this registered 501c3 organization is to provide lifelong shelter to dogs and cats deemed unadoptable, nurture and train borderline dogs, and offer temporary shelter to adoptable dogs and cats whose owners can no longer care for them.

Satchel's finds homes for dogs and cats in their care, and turns others into productive members of society. Some of the best examples of their work can be found in the stories of two strays who they trained to become service dogs, now assisting people with debilitating medical conditions.

Bob Huff, owner of Bayside Pet Resort said: “In addition to serving our clients, supporting others in the community doing good work is an important part of why we’re here. And there isn’t a group of people more dedicated to rescue animals than Satchel’s Last Resort. This event is about helping them to raise the awareness of their work and mission, to get the resources they need to continue.”

Bow Wow Luau attendees will be treated to beverages, live music, food, prize drawings, a tour of the facility, and even Hula dancing lessons. There will also be prizes such as Spa Days for dog and owner, raffle baskets, swag bags, and more. Leashed dogs with prior proof of vaccination will be able to accompany their owner.

Advance tickets can be purchased online here, and at all three Bayside Pet Resort Locations for $15. Tickets at the door will be $20, Dog attendee tickets are $5.

Proof of Vaccination for Dogs Attending The Event

Since Bayside Pet Resort is a pet boarding facility that meets stringent health requirements for the safety of all of its guest dogs, all dogs MUST have proof of vaccinations for Bordetella, Rabies and DAPP. If you are planning to bring your dog, vaccination proof must be received by May 20th via fax (941-359-9271) or emailed to comments@satchelslastresort.org. In the email subject line please put “Bow Wow Luau”.
