Bayside Pet Resort Dedicates Itself To Pet Services, Excellence, And Community Causes

Underlying Bayside’s excellent facilities and services is the clear, quiet, mission of owners Bob and Lynne Huff to make a positive difference in the community in which they serve. They work hard to provide their dog and cat guests with excellence, and enrich the community along the way. They’re clearly not just another pet boarding, training, or grooming facility. A few recent examples put their mission on display:

Bayside is actively involved in using and supporting the Bradenton Bridges of America program, a work-release transition program that allows inmates to get work experience. Angie Pantazis, director at Bayside Pet Resorts, says there are six Bridges inmates working there. Bayside and a few other local employers took an active role in successfully encouraging the state to keep the Bridges program open, despite the threat of a state funding cut.

Angie believes doing the right thing for the program also benefits Bayside, and its clients. “Our staff has written letters about how each one of these women impacted their lives…we can all agree that they’ve been a contributing part of the Bayside family and we are forever changed by their presence. Because of their outstanding performance, upon completion of the program, our hope is that they stay on as Bayside employees.”

In the spirit of families helping families, Bayside hosts special Easter Seals events, and is a continuing supporter of the youth training program, helping special needs youth prepare for the workplace. Bayside has hired two young adults from the program who have become an important part of the Bayside team.

The fun Bow Wow Luau event held at Bayside's Osprey location, raised $11,000 for the nonprofit animal rescue, Satchel’s Last Resort. Bayside supports this organization because it provides lifelong shelter to dogs and cats deemed unadoptable, nurtures and trains borderline dogs, and offers temporary shelter to adoptable dogs and cats whose owners can no longer care for them.
