Aurora, Colorado -

The website Global Dog Breeds is reaching out to share their comprehensive insight on dogs from around the world with owners and other kinds of pet enthusiasts. The company has long made it their mission to promote a better understanding of these furry companions and inform owners how best to look after their health and well being. Recently, the company began drawing their community’s attention to three distinct cross-breeds.

Beginning with the Aussiedoodle, the company explains that this dog features both the characteristics of the Australian Shepherd and Poodle. This also means that it comes in numerous varieties and colourings, with even the quality of the dogs’ coats changing between pups from a single litter. However, readers may be familiar with one of this breed’s most popular colors: the Blue Merle Aussiedoodle, so named for the distinctive blue tint of its coat.

It is important to understand this breed’s coat because this has much to do with how they should be groomed, according to Global Dog Breeds. Given that there is a great deal of variety in this breed, owners should identify what kind of hair their pet has before developing a grooming routine. Some Aussiedoodles may have long, straight hair that resembles that of the Australian Shepherd, and some may have loose curls like the Poodle.

Notably, certain Ausiedoodles may have hair that falls somewhere in the middle, featuring both characteristics. Ultimately, this means that the Aussiedoodle requires careful and considerate grooming, so those looking for a low maintenance pet may wish to seek elsewhere if they were considering this breed. The site states, “One must make sure to brush them every alternate day depending on the coat type. Nail needs trimming every two weeks, with ear cleaning to keep them dry and prevent bacterial and yeast infections. Most importantly, daily tooth brushing is an essential element of grooming your pet.”

Global Dog Breeds has similarly rich advice for the Irish Doodle, a cross of the Irish Setter and Poodle. These dogs make for excellent family companions, and they are particularly good with children and other pets. Many will also be pleased to learn that the Irish Doodle is able to adapt well to apartment life, especially given that they like being close to their owners. Global Dog Breeds adds that this breed requires much less grooming than the Aussiedoodle, given that a good brushing done twice a week is often enough to maintain its coat. They add that the dog should be dry-shampooed or bathed only when required.

The site adds, “Irish Doodles get bored quickly, so their training sessions should consist of fun and exciting games. It demands patience and commitment from its master. Begin basic obedience and socialization training from puppyhood. House training is relatively easy for this dog.” While these dogs require no specialized diets, owners should be aware that certain health issues could become apparent in members of this breed. They can be prone to deafness and hip dysplasia, for instance, among other issues common in dogs. The site recommends that owners discuss potential health hazards with their breeder or vet to be sure.

Continuing the theme of featuring cross-breeds, Global Dog Breeds highlights the Whoodle, a mix of the Standard Poodle and the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Like the Aussiedoodle, these dogs come in a wide variety of shapes and colors, with some resembling more of one parent or the other. However, they generally have a muscular shoulder with thick hind legs and a dense coat.

This breed is not always recommended for new owners since they are known to be extremely playful and fun-loving. While this makes them excellent companions for small children, the breed can also have something of a dominant personality, which some owners may find difficult to handle. However, it should be noted that the Whoodle is very non-aggressive, one of the many traits that make it perfectly suited for children. They are also not prone to frequent barking or growling.

As for grooming, the site says, “The luscious and shimmering coat of the Whoodle dog will need a daily brushing session by the owner. Their great grooming is the result of the inheritance of the genes from both of their parents. Vet approved grooming items like pin brush, nail clipper and a regular clipper will make the entire grooming process much hassle free for the groomer.”

Global Dog Breeds offers a lot more insight on these breeds and others, including tips on how they should be exercised, what they need for efficient training and even what diet is best suited for each. All this information is available for free on the official Global Dog Breeds website.
