Cambridge Electronics Incorporated, a Telus authorized store in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, has announced the launch of the Telus Home Security Fort Sask service. The service is a professionally monitored home smart automation and security plan that is available through the Telus SmartHome Security Control + Video plan on a 3- or 5-year term. This plan offers a number of conveniences: ability to answer the door and see what is happening in the home through live video on the user’s smartphone; ability to lock up the home using the smartphone in the event that the user forgot to lock the door; and ability to save on energy consumption by adjusting the home’s heating or cooling, and lighting through the smartphone.

Dan LHeureux, a spokesperson for Cambridge Electronics Incorporated, says, “We’re excited to be able to offer this home security plan. With just a single app, you are able to simplify your life with a fully integrated smart home system that allows you to control devices through your smartphone.”

He continues, “It allows you to protect your home with 24/7 professional monitoring. Please note that 60% of intruders will move on to another home if they see a camera or signs of a security system. If intruders attempt a break-in, your door, window or motion sensors will notify you and our central monitoring service.”

One of the ways in which the Telus SmartHome Security system can help in keeping families safe is through more secure doorstep deliveries as more and more people rely on these deliveries for everything from groceries to clothes to food and books. The ability to see a live feed of what is happening in real time in a particular part of the home, such as the front door, there would be no need to worry about putting the family at risk from criminals. Dan says, “Do you have questions about Telus Home Security? Call us on the telephone or send us an email.”

Through this technology, a homeowner will be able to communicate with the person delivering a package to the home with the SmartHome mobile app even when he or she is not at home. Another way to receive a home delivery securely while not at home is to set a temporary code on the smart front door lock that a trusted courier will be able to use to open the door, put the packages inside, and lock the door again.

This ensures the protection of the home and various belongings of families. And because this smart home security system can be accessed through an app on the smartphone or any other computing device, it can be controlled from anywhere. Unlike other security systems, this smart home security system is always active. Furthermore, it can send notifications to the user if something is wrong, such as when the motion sensor detects movement.

Another important benefit is the fact there would no more worry about forgetting to turn off the lights or other appliances. This is because the app allows the user to control appliances and the lights through the smartphone. This can result into savings in electric bills.

And it can also be used to discourage potential robbers. Let’s say that the motion sensors have detected some movement and an alert notice was sent to the user. The user may then turn on the lights and/or the television to make it look like somebody is at home. A lot of the time, this will discourage robbers to continue with their plan because they consider it too risky if somebody is at home.

Those who are interested in safer doorstep deliveries and the other advantages of a smart home security system may want to check out the Telus/Cambridge Electronics Incorporated website, contact them through the telephone or via email. They are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, from Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays, and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays.
