Smart Kitchen is proud to announce a number of features for its online cooking school. The new features to its website will allow members to have easier and greater access to the entirey of Smart Kitchen.

"Our new site is much more user friendly than it ever was before," says Perry Herst, co-founder of the cooking school. "Our online cooking school has become far more accessible to the general public. We offer classes for everyone, be they beginner, intermediate or advanced chefs, and we have made it much easier for them to access the information they are looking for."

One of the elements that has changed is the new members' homepage. This is the page that all members will go to first, where they can easily see how much progress they have made overall. Additionally, new content will be highlighted on the member homepages, including community conversations held on Twitter and Facebook, as well as the new Smart Kitchen forums.

The forums are an area of particular interest. Members can come together to ask questions or to swap recipes. Essentially, it is an interactive destination for cooks to share their cooking knowledge and get answers to their questions. Smart Kitchen's goal is to make their online cooking school as close to a physical school as possible, but much more convenient for busy adults. The forum component allows members to be social and gain knowledge from other members.

Another feature that has been added is the Brigade System. The system is designed to make learning about cooking more fun.

"Essentially, when you take part in an activity on Smart Kitchen, you will collect Brigade Points," adds Herst. "These points are then tallied up and students can then use the points to progress through the various levels of the classic Kitchen Brigade. This starts with New Hire and goes all the way up to Chef de Cuisine. Some of our members have already reached this level and have taken up their place on the Brigade de Cuisine Leader Board."
