CrossPoint Community Church, a nondenominational church in Jenkinsburg, Georgia, is raising money for the MERGE Mission Camp on July 13-17 in Toccoa, Georgia. Their C.H.A.O.S. (Christians Hyped About Our Savior) Youth Group has already raised over $3000, but they still need $2,200 by July 10, 2015. They hope that, by raising awareness through their gracers.org website and other activities, they will be able to raise the needed amount.
"CrossPoint's Youth Group C.H.A.O.S. is an amazing group of young people that will be donating their time and talents at MERGE Mission Camp this summer," says Andy Stewart, one of the elders at CrossPoint. "We are so appreciative for donations so far, but we still need an additional $2200 by July 10th to complete our goal for this MERGE Mission Camp. With your donation we can make a difference."
The MERGE Mission Camp is an event at which various churches come together in order to help people in need. They do this through a range of different activities, including replacing roofs, constructing handicap ramps and other projects that service the community as a whole. The C.H.A.O.S. group constantly searches for opportunities to show the love of Christ by through acts of service.
CrossPoint Community Church believes that people who (by faith) live in a restored relationship with God are able to get to know Him better and love Him more. Additionally, their desire is to reflect Jesus Christ as they listen to His voice. Essentially, members of the congregation try to live out their beliefs, which includes serving the community in the name of Christ (which is what they aim to achieve through the MERGE Mission Camp). MERGE is an opportunity for youth to become involved in serving both the Lord and their community. The leaders of CrossPoint recognize that our youth are the leaders of tomorrow!
