Avasia, a company based in Beaverton, Oregon, has announced the launch of their newest product, an organic folate, onto the Amazon marketplace. Folate is the natural form of folic acid. Many people are unable to absorb the synthetic form so folate rather than folic acid is often preferable.

Natasha Avasia, founder of Avasia, states, "Our organic folate is created from organic lemon peel. It is a natural folate supplement, in a liquid form which many people may find to be more absorbable." The organic folate can be seen on the Amazon marketplace at http://www.amztk.com/folate.

Avasia states that while many people cannot effectively absorb folic acid, this does not pertain to folates, the more natural form of folic acid that occurs in many foods. She states that while folic acid is available in many foods, including citrus fruits, up to 95 percent of the folic acids in foods is often destroyed by cooking and other kinds of processing.

Doctors suggest that women get at least 400 mcg of folic acid when attempting to conceive and throughout the first trimester of pregnancy. Also known as Vitamin B9, folate may provide a number of benefits for overall health, and may aid in the prevention of neural tube defects that can develop in unborn children during pregnancy. "Our liquid folate contains 800 mcg in one dropper, which represents a sufficient amount of Vitamin B9 for most people in one day," says Natasha Avasia.

The company states that the idea to include the folate in liquid form comes from issues that many people have with swallowing pills or tablets. Pregnant women who have been found to be particularly in need of folic acid for the development of their unborn child, are expected to prefer this instead of taking a pill. Avasia explains that the liquid form is a much more convenient and effective form for many women. In addition, the liquid is much more easily absorbed into the body, a benefit for those who cannot typically absorb folic acid in pill form.

Avasia is a family business that provides information and products for those hoping to conceive, pregnant & breastfeeding women, and those with new borns.
