Wanting to make a positive difference in the world that also impacts future generations, Avasia, a business in Beaverton, OR, is proud to announce that they are working together with fair trade farmers and a women's cooperative in India to produce their first baby product made of organic cotton. The cotton will be produced in Kerala, India, and it will be sown by the women in the local cooperative. More details about the company are available at avasia.com.

Natasha Avasia from Avasia, says: "Our company has long focused on creating the highest quality prenatal and postnatal supplements to ensure health and longevity in women, their unborn babies, and children. Our aim has always been to make a positive impact on the world as a whole, so when we had the opportunity to launch a new baby product by collaborating with a women's cooperative in an impoverished community in India, we jumped at the opportunity. Production has now started and we hope to launch our new product soon."

As part of the fair trade movement, which wishes to ensure all people are able to trade fairly not just economically, but also ecologically, a number of cooperatives have been set up around the world, most in third world countries. A number of these cooperatives are women-led in particular, ensuring women in poorer communities are able to receive education and work. In India, a number of women's cooperatives now exist, including in childcare, sewing, and more.

For Avasia, being able to work with these women, ensuring they are able to improve their lives, fits in perfectly with their own mission and goals. Furthermore, the products that these women make are completely organic, which means they also support the future of the planet. "While our focus has always been on the health of mothers and babies, we also wanted to improve the planet as a whole," adds Natasha Avasia. "There is no point helping to deliver healthy babies if they have no planet to live on, after all."

Avasia is asking those interested to follow them on Twitter at https://twitter.com/AvasiaPrenatal to be kept up-to-date with product release dates and more.
