Bethalto, IL – The Mail Box Store, the leading business center in Bethalto, is encouraging their community to spread a little holiday cheer this holiday season by participating in the annual Operation Santa program. The Operation Santa program, hosted by the United States Postal Service (USPS), has been a tradition across the United States for over 100 years.
It's easy for children and their families to participate in Operation Santa. Children write a letter to Santa Claus with their wishes for this Christmas and their parents mail it via USPS to:
Santa Claus
123 Elf Road,
North Pole, 88888
Once received, the letters are sorted, scanned, and then posted to the USPS Operation Santa website with all of the personal information redacted. Their letter can then be "adopted" by individuals or businesses. The gifts are then sent back through USPS and received by the child labeled directly from Santa.
To participate, there are a few items to keep in mind.
- When sending a letter, be sure to check that it is legible.
- Include the child’s first and last name. Note: Last names will not be visible on the website.
- Ensure the letter has the correct return address, including any apartment numbers.
- Has a Forever® First-Class Mail® postage stamp.
Letter adoption begins November 28th. The deadline to send in letters is December 12th and the final day to have presents shipped is December 19th. To register as an adopter or to submit your letter, visit https://www.uspsoperationsanta.com/.
