USPS Proposes Temporary Price Increases for Holiday Season

Highland, Ill — The United States Postal Service has announced its plans for temporary price increases for specific domestic services during the 2021 holiday season. If approved by the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC), the new prices would take effect on October 3rd and would last until December 26th. “All shipping carriers increase prices every year for their services, not just USPS,” according to Shipping School, a free educational resource focusing on shipping-related news. “This is due to inflation, rising transportation costs, and normal price fluctuations within the market as a whole. However, USPS has imposed more price increases throughout the past several months than is typical for the agency. Once approved by the PRC, this proposed temporary price increase will be the third price hike by the Postal Service for the year 2021.”
