Columbiana, Ala. – Over the last year, the state of Alabama has made great strides in reforming the standards for bail and bail bond agents. Alabama Bail Bonds, a trusted bail bonding company in Shelby county, is highlighting this year’s upcoming continuing education classes hosted by the Alabama Bail Bond Association.
Earlier this year, Alabama Governor, Kay Ivey, signed a bill into state law aimed to regulate and educate bail bondsmen and fugitive recovery agents. Every year, bail bondsmen around the state are required to complete continuing education classes to remain licensed bail bondsmen.
Continuing education classes will be offered in two format options: an in-person course or online via Zoom. The upcoming event will be held at the Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. These same classes can also be attended via the video conferencing tool Zoom for those wishing to remain at home. The additional attendance options will allow for smaller class sizes and reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19. The Association’s website states, “Due to the Coronavirus and in an attempt and to adhere to state guidelines mandating social distancing, this year there will be two options to fulfill your continuing education requirements. “
Each class also offers the opportunity to become certified in other elements of the job. Add on courses in handcuffing or de-escalation techniques are also available. The first counting education class is set to begin on Thursday, September 24. The last class will conclude on Saturday, October 10. There will be a total of four classes offered on ethics in bail, featuring Phillip Kinney. Agents looking to register for the certifications can do so online through the Alabama Bail Bonds Association website.
Alabama Bail Bonds provides both misdemeanor and felony bonds. For all bail bonding services, Alabama Bail Bonds offers complete confidentiality 24/7 and no hidden fees. The company is proud to serve the Alabama region by guiding people through the bonding process during challenging circumstances.
