Painting Company Meets Winner of Their "Paint the Town Pink" Contest

Battle Born Painting recently had the privilege of meeting the winner of their first-ever Paint Reno Pink contest. The contest ran the entire month of October 2019, which was Breast Cancer Awareness month. To be eligible, the nominee had to be someone battling breast cancer or was a breast cancer survivor, The winning nominee received a free exterior home painting by Battle Born Painting in the color of their choice.

The intent of Battle Born's contest sponsorship was twofold: 1) to bring awareness to breast cancer, and 2) to give back in a way that could help someone and hopefully bring them some extra joy. The lucky winner was Sharon Byerman.

Sharon's story is inspiring, to say the least. Her story of survival is incredible. Her cancer journey began with her granddaughter passing on a cold to her. The medical treatment Sharon sought ultimately brought to light her double cancer diagnosis.

Sharon’s diagnosis brought a heavy cloud to her already weighty world, but she never gave up the fight. With the support of her family, two surgeries, and the 36 rounds of radiation treatments that followed her diagnosis, Sharon can confidently say that she is in remission 5 years later.

Sharon displays such a positive outlook. In addition to the support from family and medical experts, she credits prayer and meditation with helping her along the way. She offered the Battle Born team better insight and understanding into the struggles she and others battling cancer have to deal with every day.

The Battle Born team feels very fortunate to have met Sharon and her husband, and they couldn’t be more honored to paint their home. Battle Born is also proud to continuously support the community of which they are a member, stating: "Battle Born Painting is committed to not only supporting our Reno community but to help bring awareness and assistance in combatting the battle against breast cancer. Battle Born Painting will sponsor this contest again along with other giveback projects to Reno.
