Centerville, Utah water damage cleanup specialists, Bio Clean of Utah, advises that it sometimes takes more extreme measures to find a leak that is causing water to get into places in a home where it can do a large amount of damage. This may include such things as using sophisticated leak detection equipment or having to strategically cut holes in a home’s walls to get a better look at the plumbing inside of them. More information such as this on Bio Clean of Utah’s water damage cleanup services can be seen here at https://www.biocleanofutah.com/ogden-water-damage-cleanup/ .
Company president, Daryl Olsen, said this about the importance of stopping a leak source in order to undertake successful water damage mitigation efforts, “It would be nice if every time we were called out to a home to do water cleanup that the source of that water buildup was either determined and corrected already or could be easily found. Unfortunately, that is not the case many times when we are called out to do a water damage cleanup project. Even though we can still get to work right away removing large amounts of water, part of our crew must find and stop the leak source in this case also. This is not always easy to do, especially for slow leaks that have been causing water to get where it shouldn’t be over long periods of time. Sometimes we have to take more extreme measures to find and stop some leak sources.”
Olsen says a current water damage project that they are working on is a great example of what was just talked about. He says their techs were recently called to help with a problem in an Ogden, Utah home where water was saturating areas of the basement and causing some big problems. When Bio Clean of Utah’s crew arrived, they could not immediately pinpoint the source from which the water in the basement was coming from. Olsen says these experienced water cleanup technicians knew that if the source of the problem was not eliminated, any efforts that they made to clean up the water would just have to be repeated. He says that by using their knowledge and special equipment their crew was able to determine the source of the leak was a water pipe that ran from the top down in this three-story house.
They were, however, unable to point exactly where the leak in the long drainpipe was located. The company president indicated that this necessitated more extreme measures to pinpoint and solve the leak problem. Only after that was done could they stop the water from seeping out of the pipe and causing damage in the home’s basement. It was decided that a small section of the drywall that covered the drainpipe needed to be removed on each floor. Olsen says this not only helped them pinpoint the leak but it will also enable them to dry the area inside the walls to prevent the leaked water from doing structural damage. He emphasized that this type of water damage cleanup project also made it very tough to give the customer a precise estimate before the work has been started. Olsen was also quick to point out that even though these situations made their work more difficult, their experienced workers and sophisticated equipment enables them to work through these problems and get even the hardest to find leaks resolved.
The company president also advised that any home or business owner that has a water leak problem to get it cleaned up as quickly as possible. He says that the longer water is allowed to penetrate into fabrics and structural materials the more potential damage it can do. Olsen says it goes without saying that this will also drive up the cost to restore the damaged areas of a home that have been saturated by water.
In addition to water damage cleanup, Olsen wanted to remind area residents and business owners that the company also offers mold remediation and smoke and fire damage services. All of their services are described in more detail on their website which is found at https://www.biocleanofutah.com/.
