Los Angeles, Nevada based home and kitchen goods manufacturer Sunsella is sharing their take on Andy Dunn, Walmart’s Senior Vice President of Consumer Digital Brands, leaving the retail giant after two years.

Andy Dunn, founder of the online menswear company Bonobos, joined Walmart in June of 2017 when the company purchased Bonobos. Dunn turned over his CEO role at Bonobos to Walmart’s then-Chief Marketing Officer Micky Onuvral as he took on a new role at Walmart. Dunn announced his impending departure in a recent LinkedIn post entitled “A Love Letter to Walmart.” In the post, he said he would leave the company early next year, praising Walmart and their continuous efforts to provide a better life for their customers.

In his post, Dunn praised the company’s low-price and consumer-oriented culture, and he shared what he had learned during his two years with the company. Wrapping up his introspective post, he wrote, “It’s a testament to what kind of company Walmart is that I entered thinking mostly about what I could offer, and ended up being the one who received so much. When it comes to making the world a better place, the world’s largest company is, 57 years later, just getting started. It’s a credit to the remarkable teamwork of 2.4 million of the hardest working people on planet Earth, all working together. As Sam said, the fact that we’re all in this together is the secret. At Walmart, it’s hidden in plain sight.”

According to further information provided by a Walmart spokesperson, Dunn will be remaining with the company for at least January of 2020. Before departing, the spokesperson assured, Dunn will work closely with the retail behemoth's merchandising and brand leadership teams to ensure a smooth and successful transition. While neither Dunn’s post nor the Walmart spokesperson’s statement specified why Dunn was leaving or what his next steps would be, the spokesperson did say that Dunn, "decided now is the right time to take the next steps in his career."

Mike Law, a representative for Sunsella, now comments, “Since Walmart acquired Bonobos, there has been a noticeable shift in the company’s digital strategy. Bonobos and other similar, digitally native brands were originally meant to complement Jet.com but that’s not how things played out, with Walmart pulling back resources from the e-commerce site and focusing entirely on it’s main website. Whatever they were doing, there is no doubt that Andy Dunn and his expertise was critical for it.”

Law continues, “Now, two years later, Dunn is announcing his sudden departure and we’re not entirely sure why. However, if Dunn’s blog post and Walmart’s own statements are any indication, it’s an amicable parting of the ways. We’re actually a little bit curious to see where Dunn ends up and what he does next. Now though, we must also consider who is going to be taking over Dunn’s position at Walmart.”

Sunsella has established themselves as a reliable provider of quality home products and kitchenware. The company’s wide range of products include a Silicone Vegetable Steamer Basket, Silicone Hot Handle - Cast Iron Griddle & Skillet Holder Set, Silicone Popsicle Molds, a Leakproof Bento Box Lunch Container, Silicone Egg Rings, and more.

Sunsella’s products have all received excellent reviews. On Amazon’s store page for the company’s Leakproof Bento Lunch Box, Hayley’s review reads, “This was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a bento style box for my son’s lunch. I love that it is sturdy and good quality, but also that the leak proof lid is easy enough for my five year old to open and close by himself. It also fits nicely in a standard size lunch box, with extra enough room for an ice pack and utensils.”
