Los Angeles, Nevada based home and kitchen goods manufacturer Sunsella is reaching out to the wider community to comment on African financial technology firm Flutterwave raising $35 million in Series B funding. The company is also turning an eye to Flutterwave’s partnership with Worldpay.

Flutterwave, which is based in San Francisco but carries out most of its operations in Africa, recently announced that it has raised $35 million in Series B funding from a number of strategic investors, with Greycroft & eVentures co-leading and CRE Venture Capital, FIS, VISA, and Green Visor all participating. According to the Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola (aka GB), the new funding will be used to invest in technology and business development to grow market share in existing operating countries. Further, the company also intends to expand their capabilities to offer more services around its payment products.

The financial technology firm also partnered with Worldpay, which makes Flutterwave the one and only African payment provider for Worldpay's clients around the world. Worldpay was acquired for a reported $35 billion by FIS, a US financial services provider, in 2019.

Flutterwave connects the entirety of the African continent to the rest of the world by providing the easiest and most reliable payment solutions for businesses from all over the world. To date, the financial technology firm has processed over 107 million transactions, which value at over $5.4 billion. Global leaders, such as Uber and Booking.com count themselves among the companies that make user of Flutterwave’s transaction systems.

Mike Law, a representative for Sunsella, says, “As with any company in the industry today, Flutterwave wants to be more. They have done an excellent job as a payment technology company so far, and their experiences will have given them a unique insight into a number of other sectors, such as education, travel, gaming, e-commerce and more. The new round of investments means that Flutterwave will be able to provide more solutions around the broader needs of their clients. As it is, they connect Africa to the rest of the world on a digital transactions platform, but soon you’ll be seeing the company offer more capabilities.”

He continues, “Of course, you also have to remember that while Worldpay and FIS both operate in a large portion of the world, neither company has any foothold in Africa. This in turn means that this new partnership between Flutterwave and Worldpay is beneficial for both parties. There is also the fact that this partnership isn’t an exclusive deal, and Flutterwave is open to making similar deals with other companies. In other words, the future of this company worth looking forward to.”

Like Flutterwave making a name for itself as a reliable digital transaction platform, Sunsella has proved itself to be a provider of quality home products and kitchenware. The company’s wide range of products include a Silicone Vegetable Steamer Basket, Silicone Hot Handle - Cast Iron Griddle & Skillet Holder Set, Silicone Popsicle Molds, a Leakproof Bento Box Lunch Container, Silicone Egg Rings and more, all of which have received excellent reviews from customers. In an Amazon review for the company’s Silicone Water Bottle Carrier/Holder with Carabiner, a customer says, “I absolutely love this pink water bottle! The color is exactly as pictured, and the bottle looks great in person. The bottle is made of high quality materials and has a vacuum sealing screw cap. It is leakproof and keeps my water cold all day. I love that it comes with a detachable clip so that you can take it on the go. I highly recommend this bottle.”

Another review for Sunsella’s Leakproof Bento Lunch Box says, “This was exactly what I was looking for! I wanted a Bento-style box for my son’s lunch. I love that it is sturdy and good quality, but also that the leakproof lid is easy enough for my five year old to open and close by himself. It also fits nicely in a standard size lunch box with extra enough room for an ice pack and utensils.”
