Lucky's Market Is Set to Close Most of Its Stores in Florida, Including the Ormond Beach Location

Sunsella, a firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada, that offers home and kitchen products online, has commented on the news that upscale grocery chain Lucky’s Market is set to shut down most of its stores in Florida, including the Ormond Beach store, by early February 2020. The Boulder, Colorado-based grocery chain has been struggling financially like most physical stores and retailers and has decided to close 32 stores nationwide, with 20 of them located in Florida.

The store closures will leave the grocery chain with just seven stores, including one in Florida, which is the Lucky’s Market in Melbourne. Recently, in December 2019, there have been reports that the grocery chain had lost its critical financial support from The Kroger Co. This did not really come as a surprise because Kroger had to write off $238 million in the third quarter of 2019 in relation to its investment in Lucky’s Market. The chain’s location at Ormond Beach has 65 employees and was only recently opened in May 2019.
