Scottsdale Community Partners, a nonprofit organization in Scottsdale, AZ, is looking for volunteers for multiple programs. The nonprofit engages in a variety of different community projects. Currently, their focus is on Back to School and Healthy Packs, and they encourage volunteers to get in touch with them to find out how they can help. The organization's website lists all the available Scottsdale volunteer opportunities.

Holly Snopko, President of Scottsdale Community Partners, says: "Our partnership with the City of Scottsdale allows us to help facilitate various programs and events with enthusiastic volunteers who are just as passionate about having an impact on our community as we are. We have a list of programs you can volunteer for and the contact information for each is available through our website."

One of the main areas of focus for the nonprofit at present is the Covering the Bases: Back to School program. Being able to partner with the City of Scottsdale on this particular project is something that fills the company with particular pride. Various other faith, civic, nonprofit, and business organizations are taking part in the project to help those in the poorer communities of Scottsdale to have a fair start for the new school year.

Meanwhile, the Healthy Packs program is also proving to be popular. Jenny Adams, Executive Director of Scottsdale Community Partners, says: "Healthy Packs provides kid-friendly, ready-to-eat, nutritious food for the weekend, so that children can return to school each Monday, energized and ready to learn. This program is facilitated by Scottsdale Community Partners, the City of Scottsdale Human Services Division, and the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD)."

The Healthy Packs program started in 2011, when community members were shocked to hear from teachers that so many children went hungry over the weekend, resulting in poor and disruptive performance in schools. The program initially started at the Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center (ANLC), serving just 25 students. Thanks to the efforts of Scottsdale Community Partners, its team of volunteers, and the support of the Scottsdale Unified School District and the city, over 400 students now receive food through this project. However, it is estimated that as many as 26% of students require help, which means there is still a long way to go.
