Donuthill, a newly launched blog, is challenging online game developers to invest more on strategy based games in the future. The website says that most online games are inadequate in strategy and as such appear to be difficult to the average online gamer.

“We don’t want to discredit current game developers, but we think online gaming could become simpler and more enjoyable if developers invested more on strategy based games. We definitely can’t mention any names, but there are a few games that are completely difficult to play because of their complicated natures,” Simeon Kelvins, the website’s founder said. “If we could see more games like ‘Reach for the Stars’ game or ‘Farflame the Dragon Lord,’ more people will embrace online gaming,” Kelvins added.

Strategy based games enjoyed massive success towards the end of the 20th century before sports and action games finally grabbed the spotlight. According to Donuthill, the main reason strategy based games could still regain the popularity they had in classical days was their unique nature. The site further says that statistics are backing modern strategy based games, and as such they are enjoying a comeback in the online niche. Donuthill also says that strategy based games are more rewarding to the player, especially when they are designed to be a bit challenging and involving.

“The reason why we are advocating for strategy based games is because they are more challenging and entertaining. They are also educating, something that most online games lacks,” Judy Daniels, the site co-founder said. “We are not against other types of games however, but we just hope that current developers could invest more on the strategy aspect of the games they are developing,” Daniels said.

At the moment Donuthill is focused on redesigning their website to offer better services. But as Ms. Daniel said, the website has plans to start a campaign advocating game developers to be more strategy based in the future.

“At the moment we are working on our website, but once done we promise to always keep our readers updated with gaming news. We actually hope to be the best gaming news in the future, and that’s why we are investing as much as possible on the technical and visual perspectives of the site,” Ms. Daniels said.
