London, UK – In 2013, Spain passed Ley de Emprendedores. The law was created to help domestic Spanish businesses while making the country more attractive to wealthy and talented people outside the European Union who desired to start businesses, invest or work within the country. In keeping with their mission to further educate travellers on the VISA process, VisaCompare (www.visacompare.com) has just published a new blog post entitled 'Spain Entrepreneur Law'.

The article discusses how 'Spain’s Intra Company Transfer category still exists for those who are not directors, specialists or trainees, the EU ICT allows for directors and specialists a maximum of three years.  (For trainees, one year is the maximum.)  They may be authorized to work elsewhere in the EU during that time, thus expanding their opportunities'.

According to the article, 'By November 29, 2016, EU member states must adopt into their respective laws the directive 2014/66/EU.  What other directives this addresses are the EU Blue Card directive, the Single Permit directive, and the Seasonal Workers directive'.

According to a New York Times article, the law is 'billed by the government as reforms that would help create jobs at a time of high unemployment, and the legislation created five visa categories, covering investors who buy at least 500,000 euros (about $625,000) of real estate; entrepreneurs who plan to establish a businesses; highly skilled professionals; researchers, scientists and teachers; and employees and trainees. Once approved, recipients are allowed to move freely through most European Union countries'.
