Dr. Mark Hickman, MD, FACS, a microsurgeon in New Braunfels, TX, wants to highlight the affordable all-inclusive cost options that he is offering for vasectomy reversal surgery. It is his belief that reversing a vasectomy is the proper decision for men, especially for those who are suffering from negative effects. While physiologically, studies have shown that the procedure doesn’t have detrimental effects, a number of men are not able to contend with the idea of having lost their virility that in turn has caused them to lose their ability to enjoy sex. Some men have even shown symptoms of depression after the procedure. Fortunately, with the affordable options offered by Dr. Mark Hickman, it is now possible for many men to regain their ability to father children.

Dr. Mark Hickman says, “I am offering two all-inclusive affordable options. The microsurgical vasectomy reversal cost option of $3,300 includes local anesthesia and an oral sedative. The $4,200 offer is performed under IV sedation and is administered by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. Both microsurgical options are all-inclusive with no hidden fees.”

He adds, “Vasectomy reversal is not just for my male patients seeking an addition to their family. Reversing a vasectomy is now being used to combat the onset of male depression following the original procedure. Patients have seen a return to their more virile days and a lifting of the ‘male fog.’”

Dr. Hickman has over 26 years of experience as a minimally invasive surgeon offering vasectomy reversal surgery. He will perform a microsurgical repair of the vas deferens using fine nylon suture that usually requires 10 to 15 stitches to ensure a watertight closure to maximize the chances of success.

During the microsurgical procedure, he will make a small incision (about half an inch) on each side of the scrotum and look for the two ends of the vas using a laparoscope, which consists of a tube with a tiny video camera at one end to enable the microsurgeon to see what he is working on. With conventional surgery procedures, the incision needed would be six to 12 inches long. With microsurgery, the smaller incisions mean the surgery procedure is less invasive, which means less pain, smaller scars, and faster healing. This means less impact on the patient.

Before joining the two ends of the vas, he will first take a sample fluid from the testicular end and examine this under a microscope. There are three possibilities. First, the fluid is found to have whole sperm. Second, the fluid is observed to be thin and contains no whole sperm but only sperm parts. Third, the fluid is observed to be thick and pasty but doesn’t contain sperm. The third possibility indicates that there is a blockage, which is called an epididymal blowout. If the third possibility is encountered, Dr. Hickman will have to perform a vasoepididymostomy in addition to the vasovasostomy. Luckily for the patient, there will be no additional charges for the extra procedure because the offer is all-inclusive.

Founded in 1988, Microsurgical Vasectomy Reversals by Dr. Mark Hickman employs his pioneering microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques for reversing a vasectomy. Dr. Hickman learned about the microsurgery methods that were then being used in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery during his general surgery residence training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Realizing the many advantages that microsurgery can offer for his patients, he made the decision to apply microsurgery techniques for his vasectomy reversal practice. He even developed surgical instruments for the minimally invasive approach. He has already conducted thousands of successful vasectomy reversals and was even able to “correct” previous procedures performed by other providers.
