A Local Dental Program is Highlighting National Dental Assisting Recognition Week

Pinellas Park, Fla. – The Dental Assisting Institute is thrilled to highlight the 44th annual National Dental Assisting Recognition week. The local dental program has trained over 6,200 dental assistants in Pinellas Park and is proud to highlight each student who has passed through the program and works in the dental field today. National Dental Assistant Recognition Week is held during the first full week of March every year.

As a key element of every dental practice year-round, dental assistants desire a special week dedicated to the hard work and dedication they put into their craft. Dental assistants strengthen the entire practice and enhance overall patient satisfaction around the world. This year, dental assistant week was held from March 7 through March 13 by the American Dental Assistants Association (ADAA).

Dental Assistants often perform a variety of tasks around the office, making them versatile, multi-talented members of any dental team. The theme for this year’s Dental Assisting Recognition week is “Dental Assistants – Our Heart Goes into Every Smile”. According to the ADAA, this theme acknowledged the growing importance of dentistry’s role in health care and the daily responsibilities of dental assistants.

Throughout the week, Dental Assistants around the country posted photos, sent and received gifts, held events, and wore/used Dental Assistants' week swag. In 1990, the ADAA stood out as the leading voice of dental assistants. However, its prominence has grown in the years since. The ADAA is committed to the promotion of quality dental health care to the public and the promotion of dental assisting's public image and stature in society.

Over the last 20 years, the Dental Assisting Institute has been offering various dental programs to the Pinellas Park and surrounding Tampa Bay Area community. The dental training offered by the school includes EFDA programs, CPR and X-ray certifications, and a ten-week dental assisting classes.
