Colorado Springs Christian Giving Organization Welcomes New Chief Operations Officer

Waterstone, a Christian donor advised funding organization in Colorado Springs, welcomes Rick Von Gnechten as their new Chief Operations Officer and Chief Gift Strategist.

Von Gnechten has over 30 years of experience as a senior financial executive in both the private and public sectors.

During his time in the public sector, Von Gnechten held the position of CFO for a 2-billion, NYSE diversified U.S. public Fortune 600 company. Before joining the board at WaterStone, Rick turned around a healthcare company resulting in an asset growth of over 800 million dollars.

In addition to turning around these healthcare companies, Von Gnechten introduced an employee stock option program (ESOP) for a professional corporation.

Von Gechten underscores the importance of strategic planning. "It's absolutely vital to successful execution of a strategy," he notes.

A representative from WaterStone noted that, "We couldn’t be more excited to have Rick on board with us." They continued to discuss how Von Gnechten’s experience will complement the WaterStone board of leaders that already consists of prominent names like Ken Harrison, John Mulder, Chris Start, and Terry Cargill.

Von Gnechten notes that his faith plays an important role in his decision-making process. During his last 10 years as a financial advisor, Von Gnechten has helped Christian leaders realize their calling to fulfill the Great Commandment and Great Commission.

Von Gnechten jokes that he's “not just all finances, though.” In addition to serving on the board for his daughter's school, Von Gnechten has been actively involved as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for his Church.
