Agencies across the globe agree one of the most proactive and immediate measures that can be taken is to increase the frequency of handwashing. If one is unable to use water and soap, the next best alternative is to use a hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.

The company acknowledges that much of this kind of behavior is a habit, however, WHO has advised respiratory viruses like COVID-19 are highly contractable through skin-to-skin contact. Contact with eyes, nose, or mouth with an unwashed hand can lead to becoming infected with the virus. They instead suggest wave, nodding, bowing or generally be neighborly from a distance.
The CDC says coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. While it appears that infection is more likely person-to-person, they still recommend cleaning and disinfecting regularly used surfaces and items. This includes tools and materials. The Billings, MT HVAC company suggests that these items are first cleaned to remove dirt and lower germ count, then followed up with a chemical disinfectant to kill the remaining germs.
Furthermore, Williams is advising all their technicians to screen potentially infected customers by asking the “Big Three” questions to protect residential plumbers and service technicians from contracting and spreading the virus. These questions include:
“Have you or anyone in your house traveled out of state in the last 14 days?”
“Have you or anyone in your household recently experience a fever, runny nose, sore throat, or cough?”
“Have you or anyone you have been in recent contact with tested positive for COVID-19?”
If customers answer “Yes” to any of these questions, then service may be denied and delayed for a minimum of two weeks — as determined by the service technician.
