Finnteriors Construction Services has been successfully serving the remodeling needs of those in the St. Louis area for over 20 years. They have leaned on that 20 years of experience to come up with a list of things to consider when someone is about to undertake a spring remodeling project. Those at the company say that careful planning from start to the finish is the key to having any remodeling project go smoothly.

Finnteriors owner, Kevin Finn, had this to say about planning a spring remodel, “Doing custom remodels for as long as we have has taught us a thing or two about what leads to a successful remodel. Careful planning is the main thing that needs to be done but some intangibles need to also be considered in order to help any remodeling project go smoothly. Those that follow the script that we lay out for them often have their remodeling projects come out looking great and have no major surprises along the way.”

He says that before the design of any spring remodeling project can even start, a homeowner must first have a budget in mind based on what actual cash resources or loan money they have available to them. A customer will also have to come up with a list of ideas as to how they are considering doing their remodel and they also should have a list of features that must be included in the remodeling design. Finn says one should also talk to their insurance company about their remodel too because it may push their home’s value over their covered limits. He says that a homeowner that’s tuned in with their remodel should also question their contractor about any subcontractors they will use during the project and any other businesses that will contribute to getting the project done. The company owner says that with them, they not only talk about the subcontractors that they will use but many times they will tell their clients that they already have them scheduled to do the work to prevent any scheduling hiccups due to last-minute planning. A good contractor will also have the necessary starting supplies on hand well before the remodeling project gets underway. Other things to consider when planning a successful project include making contingency plans to live without the room or rooms that are being remodeled. Finn gave a kitchen remodel as an example. He says someone has to be able to live without that kitchen for a month or so during the remodel. This may mean using an existing outdoor kitchen for cooking or making a laundry room into a makeshift kitchen.

Finn also says that when they help their customers design their remodeling project, they can also help keep them up to date on the latest and best remodeling trends. The company owner emphasized that they will never push their remodeling designs on a customer but instead work with the customer's vision of their remodel while offering suggestions that will keep that vision practical and on budget. He says they are prepared to do such things as show their customers plenty of examples of what types of modern remodeling looks homeowners are choosing today. The advanced design software that they use will also allow their customers to see a rough snapshot of what their project will look like when it’s finished. That will make it easier for them to make changes before a project is already underway.

The owner went on to add that the above list of things to consider when doing a spring remodel was not meant to overwhelm anyone. When they take on a remodeling project for a client, they don’t just collect payments as the work goes along. He says that they stand by their customers every step of the way from the initial contact to the completion of the remodeling project. Finn added that his company has the experience, knowledge, and the key personnel in place to make a customer’s remodeling project turn out exactly as they had hoped every time.
