Verbal Behavior Associates receives award for supporting behavioral health throughout Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District.

Orange County, CA - Verbal Behavior Associates, VBA, an Irvine group of dedicated professionals who offer applied behavior analysis (ABA), recently received an award from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD). The “You Are The Advantage” Award is given to community members and employees who embody the district’s four core values of innovation, excellence, collaboration, and integrity.

Verbal Behavior Associates provides applied behavior analysis services to children impacted by autism or other developmental delays as well as children who demonstrate moderate-severe behavior problems. VBA founder Matthew Howarth, Ph.D., BCBA-D and his team collaborated with PYLUSD during the previous year to provide the required intensive behavioral training for the school district’s Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) as they provide the necessary behavioral support to the district’s 21 elementary schools.

“We strongly believe that the student is always right,” says Dr. Howarth. “All children are capable of learning, and as teachers we need to adapt our teaching strategies based on our students’ responding to ensure success.”
