Cancer Journeys Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Manhattan Beach, CA, is proud to announce that Robert Hess, prostate cancer survivor and president of the foundation, has attended the 2017 edition of the Peace Out, Prostate Cancer ride in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 5, 2017. Full details about the foundation can be obtained through their website at www.cancerjourneysfoundation.org.

Robert Hess himself says: "We have been part of Peace Out, Prostate Cancer since year 1. It's a great event. We save lives every year."

This was the 5th annual ride hosted by Shelley Martin, Peace Out, Prostate Cancer Founder. Shelley lost both her father and grandfather to prostate cancer and has made prostate cancer early detection part of her life's mission. Details about Shelley Martin's aims and goals, and the Peace Out, Prostate Cancer events, can be accessed at http://peaceoutprostatecancer.org/ride/.

The Cancer Journeys Foundation presents a genuine silver belt buckle to the person who has ridden his or her bicycle the farthest to participate in the ride. This year's winner was Allan from Chicago, Illinois.

"Prostate cancer can be treated if it's found early," says Hess. "I know because I'm a 14-year prostate cancer survivor. I'm here today because a friend told me to get a PSA test."

The Cancer Journeys Foundation fulfills two critical missions. First of all, it is about providing support to the 14 million cancer survivors in the United States and their families and caregivers as they move through their individual cancer journeys. Secondly, they focus on increasing awareness of the critical need for early cancer screening and treatment.

As part of this year's campaign to stamp out prostate cancer, the Cancer Journeys Foundation is highlighting the Prostate Tracker App, which can be accessed at www.prostatetrackerapp.com. Robert Hess says: "ProstateTracker tracks any changes in your PSA number or your Prostate Health Index(PHI) number. You just create your free account, enter your test results, and ProstateTracker will show you if there is a rising trend. Then, ProstateTracker will send you an email reminder when your next test is due." Through the app, the foundation aims to save more lives thanks to early detection.
