Consumers Comfort Inc, a company based in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, has introduced heat recovery ventilators. The company points out that such equipment is the best way to have clean indoor air.

A spokesperson with Consumers Comfort Inc says, "With new houses being built air tight there is no air infiltration in the house. They said heat recovery ventilators allow you to have clean indoor air without having your windows open."

The company says that a heat recovery ventilator or HRV is ideal for cold climates and will help consumers to enjoy clean indoor air, even during those times when windows cannot feasibly be left open, such as during the cold winter months. HRVs are installed in homes to provide continuous air movement, by pushing the stale air out and bringing the fresh outside air in. Consumers Comfort states that this is the best way to ensure the freshest possible air, and that circulating air can help to cut down on allergens that can trigger certain allergies in certain people.

The company recommends that homes with cramped environments, such as smaller homes or those with multiple family members, use these ventilators to ensure that stale air is expelled from the home. The units can be hung from the ceiling in furnace rooms, or fitted on the wall. The company states that putting them on the floor in the room with the furnace is another option. Professional installation is required, and that they offer installation for the units in their service areas.

The company states that the ventilator warms up incoming air by using the heat from outgoing air, so that it does not cause higher heating bills. Most of the new units are equipped with two fans. One fan moves used air out while the other pushes fresh air in.

"Anyone interested in having a unit installed," says the company spokesperson, "should contact us and let us discuss possible options with you."

Consumers Comfort Inc states that the units are as cost-effective as well as being good for the health, and that they help to cut down on energy bills. More about the units and their benefits can be seen on the official Consumers Comfort Inc website.
