Chicago Dental Practice Announces Update On Fundraiser For St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

1st Family Dental in Chicago, Illinois, has announced an update on its fundraising campaign that will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family dental practice has a goal of raising $50,000 for the hospital, and has already raised over $33,000, as of August 31. 

On the fundraising effort, 1st Family Dental spokesperson Vicky Khawaja said, "We want to encourage parents to schedule their children's back-to-school dental check-up. Not only will you be helping your child to protect his or her smile, you'll also be helping children who are going to begin the school year in a hospital, hoping for a cure."

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital treats thousands of children every year who are battling cancer and other diseases. The hospital treats all children, regardless of a parent's ability to pay, so they rely on fundraising efforts to fund their research and care. The family dental practice has 11 locations and is donating $10 to the hospital for every child who completes a dental exam and cleaning by the end of September, which also happens to be Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

"We urge parents to schedule those check-ups soon, and help us to help other children in need," says Vicky Khawaja.
