Knives Ship Free

You read that right. Due to new Oregon laws banning the sale of ivory (even mammoth ivory) and a mandated increase in minimum wage, they have chosen to leave their home of over four years in the wonderful city of Hillsboro, Oregon, and moving to... (drum roll, please) ...Escanaba, Michigan!

If you feel like you have heard of Escanaba before, chances are you have purchased a Bark River knife -- in fact, the new home of KnivesShipFree will be right down the street from Mike Stewart and his crew. KnivesShipFree has always worked closely with Bark River. Having been in the knife industry for 2 generations, Bark River shares their passion in producing the highest quality of blades. Their partnership has always been a fruitful one, and now a good thing will get even better.

Some longtime customers may be concerned as to what will change once this move takes place. Will KnivesShipFree be able to maintain their same levels of service? Will the same staff be taking care of customers? What about shipping speeds?  As the owner, Derrick Bohn states, “We'll be making the move about two months from now. If all goes well, we expect to miss only one day of shipping. And speaking of shipping, our new location means that our customers, most of whom are in the eastern half of the U.S., will get their orders much faster after the move. The exception would be Oregon, Washington and California, where it'll take only a day longer than it does now”. He goes on to state, “Tyler, who runs our sales department, and Jason, who manages the website and does our photography, will be moving to Escanaba with us.”

As of today, KnivesShipFree wants to whittle down their inventory before they have to pack it up. Derrick states, “The less we have on hand, the less we will have to move. So we are having a once-in-a-lifetime Moving Sale, check out the CLOSEOUT KNIVES category. All ESEE, RAT and Spyderco must go, and you will find lots of great deals on Bark River as well. Be sure to check out our miscellaneous section to find some of our other brands that we carry.”

Needless to say, things will be a little crazy at KnivesShipFree over the next couple of months, but they have promised to fulfill all of your orders as quickly as possible. KnivesShipFree is certainly undergoing some major changes in the near future, but it seems the more things change, the more they stay the same for this rising company.
