BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on a lawsuit filed by a Texas couple in the Eastern District of New York prior to its being transferred to multidistrict litigation (MDL) 2592 in Eastern Lousiana which was created after a decision handed down by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPMDL). The plaintiffs in this particular case (originally filed under case number 1:14-cv-04524) have alleged that the defendants in the case, Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subdivision of the Johnson and Johnson Corporation, failed to sufficiently warn patients and medical professionals of the life-threatening risks related to the use of Xarelto, the blood thinner medication they were taking.

The female plaintiff alleges to have only used the drug for about 5 months when she suffered a very quick onset of internal bleeding. She was prescribed Xarelto by her doctor to treat her atrial fibrillation and to prevent the risk of stroke which she was told she was susceptible to due to her medical condition. The plaintiff has also stated in her court filing paperwork that she still has issues with the bleeding that have created some enduring medical problems that she must yet still deal with.

Xarelto has been on the market for approximately 5 years. During this time, it has become the focus of numerous lawsuits all across the United States. The drug was very popular with patients since it offered some benefits that blood thinner medications before it could not provide. Today, however, controversy swirls about the drug, as over 3,400 lawsuits have been filed focusing on the same allegation that it puts patients at an increased risk for very dangerous, life-threatening internal and external bleeding that can be uncontrollable and fatal.

Complaints about the blood thinner medication Xarelto and the risks associated with it continue to increase as many of the current plaintiffs await their court dates to have their cases heard.

The Osborne firm is offering free consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. Call (866) 425-8902 for more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation.
