Baltimore Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Center based in Lutherville-Timonium, MD, has announced a new procedure for patients. Kybella is a relatively new, non-surgical cosmetic procedure and one that is becoming increasingly popular. Dr. Jeffrey Schreiber and his practice are the first to offer this in his area.

A reputable plastic surgeon in Baltimore, Dr. Schreiber states, "Kybella is the latest non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for double chin, and our practice is happy to be offering this in our area."

As opposed to actual surgery, Kybella is a medication that is injected carefully underneath the chin. It is designed to dissolve fat over the course of a few months. Dr. Schreiber says that when done properly, the treatment will leave no scars and offers minimal discomfort. He says that patients are often able to get back to their daily activities the same day as the procedure, with no recovery time needed.

"It's a great alternative to those who do not want traditional surgery, and one that works well for those with fat under their chins," the doctor states.

The procedure can be done in office, and takes about 20 minutes according to Dr. Schreiber. He states that the most common side effect is mild swelling in the areas of injection, which typically resolves after the first day or two. "Patients are seeing results after just three treatments," he states, although studies have shown that for full correction, some patients may need up to six injections.

Dr. Jeffrey Schreiber, who is originally from St. Louis, MO, earned his B.A. in Biology and his M.D. at the University of Missouri Kansas Medical School. He also takes pride having completed a general surgery internship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by an integrated general surgery and plastic surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital/University of Maryland plastic surgery program. He says that a consultation is needed for anyone considering this treatment, as not everyone is going to benefit from Kybella. Those with sagging neck skin and other issues may need additional or alternative treatments in order to solve their issues. He states, however, that for most patients, Kybella is quickly becoming the best way to solve double chin problems.

He urges those who are interested to learn more by reading his practice's patient reviews and testimonials on the clinic's official website, or by simply calling the office to schedule a consultation.
