Lehi, Utah -

Waite Vision, a vision correction practice in Lehi, UT, has recently published a video article, “Rick and Chelsea's Vision Stories,” which presents testimonials from patients Rick and Chelsea. In the video, they describe the amazing customer experience they had as patients at the vision center. Rick Talbot had LASIK eye surgery while Chelsea Talbot had PRK and both were elated by the visual results and experience they’ve had at Waite Vision. Those who want more information about this testimonial or vision correction procedures can visit the Waite Vision website.

In the video, Rick revealed that he underwent LASIK surgery about a year ago while Chelsea had PRK surgery also about a year ago. Rick was farsighted and had been wearing glasses and for some reason he could not wear contacts. Chelsea was also farsighted and was annoyed that she had to wear eyeglasses or contacts if she wanted to watch a movie before bed. And they want to add that the customer experience at Waite Vision has been the best with everyone treating them like family. Chelsea also revealed that she was present when Rick underwent LASIK with Practice Manager Jen Martin explaining every step of the procedure. Chelsea reveals that she was convinced after hearing Rick state that he could read across the street right after the procedure. She immediately scheduled a consultation appointment on their way out. Rick points out that the clarity of his vision still amazes him after a year.

Dr. Waite says, “Are you nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism? You can be cured from any of these vision conditions in minutes with LASIK. In fact, we’ve been able to permanently correct these for many years. Myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism can all be corrected. Astigmatism simply refers to an irregular shape of the cornea. LASIK corrects myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism better than glasses and contact lenses by correcting it at the source. The change you notice is immediate and will give you better vision than glasses or contact lenses.”

An initial consultation is necessary, and this will include a complete diagnostic workup that employs seven different tests and the most up-to-date technology for assessing the patient’s eye health. After this, Dr. Waite will discuss the most appropriate vision correction surgery for the patient. LASIK is suitable for those who have reached ocular maturity (usually around age 18), have a healthy cornea, and have farsightedness, nearsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia.

One of the alternatives to LASIK for those who have been determined not to be suitable for LASIK is photorefractive keratectomy (PRK). This is basically the same as the LASIK procedure except that a corneal flap is not required. PRK can be used to address refractive error, including eye conditions that can’t be addressed by LASIK. Dr. Waite usually recommends PRK to patients with irregular scarring, thin corneas, keratoconus and have already had crosslinking performed.

Established in 2018, Dr. Aaron Waite has brought together a team of the most skilled staff for vision correction at Waite Vision. Dr. Waite is a board-certified and fellowship trained ophthalmologist who has focused on providing modern eye surgery because of its life-changing effects. He graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University and earned his medical degree from the University of Utah. He finished his medical internship at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee, where he received the 2010 ASCRS Foundation Resident Excellence Award. Next, he finished his fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. And after two years in private practice, he became Director of Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Tennessee Hamilton Eye Institute where he trained other eye surgeons and participated in a number of studies before he returned to Utah to launch Waite Vision.

Those who would like to get more information about the LASIK procedure and the different alternatives can visit the Waite Vision website or contact them through the phone or via email.
