Chicago, Illinois -

MeetPositives.com, a dating website built for people living with Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), has recently published a new blog post that discusses a new finding related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As noted on the blog post, research conducted by a Chinese medical team suggests the possibility of the COVID-19 virus being transmitted sexually. The research involved male patients who had been hospitalized in the Shangqiu Municipal Hospital in China. Of the 38 male patients who were involved in the study, six presented semen with the COVID-19 virus. This number represents 16% of the men tested. According to the researchers, the study’s sample size was limited and the data was preliminary in nature. However, several scientists warn the general public that this new information regarding the virus cannot be ignored. In fact, a team of researchers recommends further studies involving the concentration of the virus in the semen as well as its shedding and survival time.

Meanwhile, MeetPositives says that this new finding, if pushed for further studies, can greatly reduce the spread of the pandemic. Jack Lombardi, CEO of MeetPositives says, “One cannot deny the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our lives and on our society. It has changed the way we live. Nobody really saw this coming and no one was prepared. Now that it is here, however, it is important to stay safe and to learn to cope with the ‘new normal’ and be prepared for the new complications caused by the virus.”

Regarding the effects of COVID-19 on the dating world, Lombardi states, “Being positive for COVID-19, like being positive for any STDs, is something that you have to tell your partner or would-be partner. It’s not something you can lie about. We have already added COVID-19 to our list of STDs because you can’t have sex with someone who is COVID-19 positive with the risk of transmission. The fact that the study involved recovering patients means that there are chances of people engaging in sexual activities before they are tested for COVID-19, and this could result in the spread of the virus if one of them is positive.” More information about the blog post can be found on the blog post entitled Researchers Say, COVID-19 Possible Sexually Transmitted Disease.

In addition to adding the COVID-19 to the website’s list of STDs, MeetPositives has also recently added a video chat feature due to the increase in activity in their platform during quarantine.

MeetPositive acknowledges that it is part of human nature to reach out and connect with other people. The company asserts that people crave for interaction and attention as well as connections with other people. However, due to the pandemic, everyone’s ability to go outside to do such things has been limited, and the existence of online dating sites such as MeetPositives will hopefully ease this difficult period for many single individuals who are looking for friends. MeetPositive says that socializing and dating online has also become a great way to release stress while being confined at home. This is the reason why the company works hard to keep people connected amid the lock-downs and social distancing caused by the pandemic.

Furthermore, Lombardi explains that MeetPositives (MP) provides a second chance at love and dating for those who are living with STDs such as Herpes, HIV, Syphilis, Trichomoniasis and so on. He asserts that the exclusivity of the website, for STD positive individuals, gives members the assurance that they would get to have a more pleasant dating experience by avoiding the embarrassment of having “the talk” as well as eliminating the possibility of rejection caused by telling a potential partner about their condition.

Aside from being a dating website, MeetPositives also provides a platform for individuals to find new friends with the same experiences as them. Lombardi states that new members of MeetPositives instantly become a part of a bigger, loving community that can provide them with support and care as well as useful advice on life, relationships and dating. MeetPositives also has a mobile application that can make a member’s experience with MeetPositives easier and even more user-friendly.
