Wandsworth Physiotherapy and Osteopathy has been nominated for a prestigious award from Wandsworth Business Awards in London. This is one of the largest events where small businesses in South London gain a lot of exposure to other nominated companies. There were lots of local business people gathered to celebrate the sixth-annual Wandsworth Business Awards glitters ceremony last Friday night.
This is another event hosted by Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce, at the association where McDonald's is the headline sponsor. The 2018 Wandsworth Business Awards are aimed at recognizing and rewarding the achievements of the local businesses in the community. Therefore, it only naturally begins with a drink reception at Roehampton Club, guests from the local business world meet and network with each other, then are treated with a sumptuous three-course gala dinner. All this is followed by the awards ceremony itself.
David Blackmore, TV and radio presenter on this Morning, hosted the ceremonial awards, along with category sponsors that front the audience of 200 people. Awards were presented in 12 categories, including employer of the year, best eatery, innovator of the year and best independent retailer. These categories put forward the coveted title of overall ‘Business of the Year’. This award was presented to Beaver Pest Control, who was the Best SME category winner.
At the ceremony Steve Pinto, Chief Executive of Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce said, “I continue to be very impressed with quality, enthusiasm and passion where there are businesses enter these awards. They demonstrate that Wandsworth is an exciting place to work and recognition from these awards makes a difference securing new customers and new business. Having said this we received many entries from local businesses in the borough, large and small. To get the finals absolutely fantastic, winning an award is amazing, but important to use the information to support employees and customers bringing out the best in what happening in your business.”

With extending my congratulations where there are finalists and winners with awards thanking the Wandsworth Chamber and FHW putting on a fantastic, celebratory event.”
The atmosphere at this event is overwhelming, there are many attendees which think it is important to recognise business achievement. Carolina from The Pig & Whistle in Earlsfield says, “I think it is important helping and supporting small businesses; one can really grow to have the support and these awards excite celebration of that. It is really important for us to engage the awards in a great way which celebrates local business, opportunity networking and sharing the best practice. We, however, want to make sure we support local businesses growing with development helping them to grow the talent of the future.”
The Wandsworth Business Awards are a fantastic platform to showcase the wide variety of businesses in Wandsworth. As a previous winner, it is important to reflect on the amazing benefits these have on the local area.
An employee from Wandsworth Mediation Services, Helena Roberts, says, “This award helps in the focus of small businesses, might not have the marketing budget of big businesses and making people within Wandsworth and beyond such that one makes sure what they have to offer. They also give credibility for a business, as one can say they have recognized by Wandsworth.”
“We are really proud to get nominated for Wandsworth Business Awards. We have experienced a great year with unprecedented growth and this just caps all off nicely. We move a brand with a new state of art clinic next year, so we hope to continue to grow well into 2019,” says Steve Hines, Owner.
