BootBay offers a new product line of cowboy boots. The selection of Western boots is perfect for making Cowboy Action Shooting Games more authentic.

Knoxville TN: BootBay is pleased to announce the launch of their product line. To the existing inventory of high-quality boots, the company has created a product line of boots suitable for wear during Cowboy Action Shooting Games (CAS). The cowboy-style boots help to make the attire more authentic for the time period of the competition. Every part of CAS is intended to be suitable for the time period.

CAS is also known as Cowboy 3-Gun, Single Action Shooting and Western Action Shooting. The competition is a shooting sport which began in the 1980s in the early 1980s. There are numerous locations for the competition at present, both in the United States and in other countries. The sanctioning organisations include National Congress of Old West Shooters (NCOWS), Western Action Shootists Association (WASA) and the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS).

The CAS competition matches use pistols, rifles and/or shotguns in several Western-themed courses. The contestants are rated for time and accuracy. They are required to dress in themed or era attire and must use gear and accessories as mandated by the respective sanctioning group rules. One of the elements of the attire is cowboy boots.

Competitors in the CAS matches must use original or reproduction guns for the matches. The boots must match the period of the guns. Firearms which are used in the competition are those typical of mid-to-late 19th-century guns, including single action revolvers, lever-action rifles chambered in pistol calibres and double-barreled shotguns (Coach Guns). The handguns must be single-action.

Western boots originated in the American Southwest during the same period as the guns used in the CAS competitions. The boots are stylish, durable and comfortable to wear. They are popular for CAS matches, as well as horseback riding, dancing or everyday wear. The outfits which are acceptable are those in an Old West or Victorian era style.
