TheProductLawyers.com report on statute of limitations laws regarding when a plaintiff can file a Xarelto lawsuit.

The statute of limitations for cases involving personal injury varies from state to state. In states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California, the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury lawsuit is two years. The limit is expanded to 3 years in areas such as Washington D.C. and New York and can even be as long as six years in states including North Dakota and Maine.

These laws are important for the thousands of plaintiffs who have chosen to file personal injury lawsuits against Xarelto manufacturers Bayer AG and Johnson & Johnson. The drug, approved by the FDA in 2011, is used as a blood thinner for patients with atrial fibrillation. Since it was approved, the FDA has issued several warnings about the medication indicating that severe side effects have been reported by patients using the drug. Patients have reported experiencing severe side effects such as pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, gastrointestinal bleeds, and hemorrhages.

Cases have now reached 9,000 in number nationwide and the first bellwether trials are expected to begin in March 2017.

"Our lawsuits allege that the manufacturers failed to warn our clients about the severe side effects from which our clients suffered while taking the drug," said attorney Laurence Banville, a contributor to the Xarelto litigation updates on TheProductLawyers.com. "We are speaking with families who have had brain bleeds, gastrointestinal bleeds, vaginal bleeding, and bleeding from trauma where hospitalization and extreme measures were taken by medical staff to help save the patient's life,” Banville continued. "We look forward to fighting for the rights of our clients and pursuing just compensation for the injuries and hospitalization."

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-478-9711.
