A popular online magazine based in London, has announced that they have recently released a new section on their website that focuses on relationships. The company states that one of the latest topics released involves looking at the attraction of cougars and how many people are choosing today to enter into relationships where age gaps exist.
"Many people are realizing that age is just a number," says Chloe, a spokesperson for the online magazine. "We see many more relationships today where one party is several years older than the other."
The online magazine states that while cougar type relationships are quickly becoming the norm, there are many who still believe that people should date or marry close to their same age. May December marriages have been commonplace for decades, although the magazine states that in most cases the male is older than the female. Chloe says that today, those norms are changing.
"Instead of a man who is 20 or more years older than his wife, we're beginning to see women who are decades older than their husbands," states Chloe from the London X City online magazine. "This is perfectly acceptable today, although those women have to contend with the cougar stigma where they are labeled because they only date men who are younger."
Chloe states that more and more women are entering into relationships with younger men, and states that more and more people are finally beginning to accept this as normal behavior. The magazine says that while those women may still be labeled as cougars for dating someone much younger, it is a trend that is not nearly as looked down upon as it has been in the past. Chloe states that as more women step out of their comfort zone and actively date younger men, more women will be motivated to do so as well.
