Bren & Mike have completed a comparison review of Aweber vs GetResponse. The results of the review are now available. The review gives insights into both programs, and points out some of the advantages and disadvantages of using each one.

Both GetResponse and Aweber are tools for hosting mailing lists, sending out newsletters via email, and creating newsletter templates. They enable automation of communications to subscribers through an automated response system that basically sends out the emails on its own.

Subscribers can receive a welcome email the instant that they sign up for a website's newsletter. Site owners can set autoresponders to send out emails periodically, which has been shown to significantly help with subscriber interest and sales.

The team found that both email autoresponders perform extremely well for the price point. "We presently use both autoresponders," says Mike Marko, "though we do probably use GetResponse more, simply because it is well integrated with other systems that we are presently using.

The article is not strictly a GetResponse or Aweber review. Instead, it lists points for both of the autoresponders, citing which ones offer the best price, trial, and other aspects.

GetResponse for instance, provides a free 30 day trial. Aweber does not, although they do offer a discounted price for the first month. Although not a GetResponse review on its own, the article does highlight the best points of both systems, and GetResponse seems to be the clear winner.

"GetResponse is less expensive per month, although not much, but it offers a number of other features as well that Aweber does not," says Marko.

GetResponse offers a lower price range for those operating with fewer than 1000 emails. A starter plan costs around $15 per month with GetResponse, while Aweber charges $29 per month. The more expensive plan, which allows for up to 25,000 email addresses runs $145 per month with GetReponse, and $149 with Aweber. Both systems offer a discount for paying annually, and Aweber offers discounts for quarterly payments.

Bren & Mike also go into what autoresponders do and why they are important in the scheme of things.
