Walla Walla, Wash., April 6, 2016—Express Employment Professionals, among the most respected staffing agencies in Walla Walla, WA, announced results that arose from a special study exposing the mindsets of working mothers in celebration of Mother's Day.
The survey of 1,059 working mothers and fathers was conducted in May 2016. Participants were asked, “Would you work if you didn’t have to?” Sixty-two percent of working moms stated "Yes," as compared to 69 percent of working dads who stated the very same.
Moreover, Express launched additional survey results from a study of companies on the treatment of moms and dads in the work environment. The survey of 390 businesses, which are current and former clients of Express Employment Professionals, was conducted in April 2016. Participants were asked, “Do you provide maternity leave for the birth or adoption of a child?” Three-quarters (75 percent) of business stated, "Yes."
When it pertains to paternity leave, nevertheless, the story is a bit varied. Simply under half of the surveyed companies (49 percent) offer paternity leave.
Several companies do provide other advantages too, according to the study. Two-thirds (67 percent) stated they allow working fathers and mothers to benefit from versatile hours, while 26 percent stated they offer other kinds of benefits, and 7 percent reported enabling working moms and dads to telecommute.
“Flexibility in the workplace is one of the most important benefits an employer can offer,” said Shannon Bergevin, franchise owner of the Walla Walla Express office.
She continues to share, “Working moms and dads become more engaged in their work if they are allowed some flexibility to attend things like daytime concerts, sports games, or being able to pick up sick kids during the day.”
“On behalf of the entire Express team, I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!” added Bergevin.
