When asked how he started as a lawyer, the story is different than most. Kevin stated that he used to be secure in his job as an Operations Manager at Federal Express. However, he wanted more. In his mid-thirties he quit his job, applied to law school at the University of LaVerne, and went after what he wanted.

Kevin Cortright attributes his choice of being a bankruptcy, personal injury, and workers’ compensation attorney to his passion of helping people through their stressful times and winning cases in order to help them through their suffering. When asked what he thought the most important part of being a lawyer was, he stated that it was listening to both his clients and the judge thoroughly before moving forward.
