Zoltan David, an Austin custom jewelry designer, believes in redefining philanthropy and service by using his creativity and talent to support his favorite charities. For the fourth year in a row, Zoltan David and wife and business partner, Patti David, have donated an original one of a kind jewelry piece created specifically for each of the events at their favorite non-profit organizations. This year the donation was awarded to CASA of Travis County, Texas.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Travis County believes every child who's been abused or neglected deserves to have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school and in our community. To accomplish this, CASA educates and empowers diverse community volunteers who ensure each child's needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety because the people responsible for protecting them have not, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations and help the judge decide what's best for the child.

For children who've been abused or neglected, CASA means having a home instead of feeling lost, and being a priority instead of feeling invisible. Children with CASA volunteers are more likely to end up with their family, and according to National CASA, more likely to receive therapy, health care and education and do better in school, and less likely to be bounced from one place to another or get stuck in long-term foster care. CASA's vision is to provide a volunteer advocate for every child in need in our community. Last year, 700 children still needed a volunteer to speak up for them.

Zoltan says, "There are few things I love more or am inspired by more than children. When I see them needing help, when I see them overcome adversity and become honorable young adults, these things inspire me, so it is, emotionally and intellectually, a very easy thing to create a one of a kind design to CASA to support the children."

Zoltan has been creating precious metal art in Austin for decades and every single piece he creates is uniquely inspired, but this particular piece came to him as a vision. It is titled "Guiding Light", and it is made in 18K Gold, 24K Gold, and Knightsteel, with a substantial fancy yellow diamond in the center of the piece, and accent diamonds as well. It is a one of a kind piece, which will not be made again. The pendant is constructed in 14 separate parts, finished to perfection and masterfully assembled. It was auctioned off at CASA's annual fundraising event, CASAblanca Gala, for .

"It is complicated in its engineering. That is how I like to make pieces. I spent many hours just in the design phase and my staff of artisans and I spent many more days completing it. It is an inspired piece that I hope will uplift all who view it," Zoltan says.

Zoltan has also created special pieces during the last three years and plans to continue serving his community in the future with his fine jewelry in Austin and beyond. In 2015, he donated to CC4C.org, also a non-profit that helps children with rare or undiagnosed diseases. Zoltan created the "Love Bracelet", a bracelet of connecting hearts. The bracelet is made in black Knightsteel, platinum and 392 D color flawless pave' set diamonds, valued at $21,000.00. The Love Bracelet was featured at the live auction event during the first "Night for Champions" gala at The Circuit of the Americas venue. In 2014, the donation was for Paramount Theater and featured a $12,000 Golden South Sea Pearl and Platinum Necklace. In 2013, CASA of Travis County received an inspired creation. The "Star Child" was an amazing platinum and pure gold 'star' with a small perfect pearl in the center, and valued at $18,000.
