MARGATE, Fla. – On Saturday, January 9th, YouMoms founder Aimee Nelson shared her compelling story of survival on Recovery On Air. Her personal story of her recovery from trauma and childhood issues has been her personal motivation for helping others. She discussed her mission for the YouMoms Program and detailed her work at the Calvary Chapel Church in West Palm Beach, Florida with Dr. Barry Gregory, host of the show.

Aimee detailed her mission in life which is to empower and equip women to walk in their purpose regardless of their past. She leads several programs and projects at Calvary Chapel of the Palm Beaches, volunteers in the children’s ministry, and she often sings with the worship team at her church. She serves as the Founder and Executive Director of YouMoms Motherhood Mentoring Program, a nonprofit, which was created to encourage and support pregnant women and teens as they face the challenges of motherhood. She also leads “The Open Door” as Executive Director where their goal is to educate Teen Moms and help them break generational cycles two generations at a time, one by supporting the mother and the other by educating her child.

Prior to changing her entire life and direction, Amiee suffered from issues of self -esteem and abandonment resulting from her childhood adoption and an unplanned teen pregnancy. Mrs. Nelson who was born and raised in Rivera Beach, Florida soon realized that she needed to make serious personal changes. She relied on her deep faith to help her turn her life around.
