January 25, 2016 - PRESSADVANTAGE -

Las Vegas NV: Remote, motorized golf caddies and trolleys are the latest technology advance offered by Motogolf and owners Jan and Ken Yamamoto, and company announced. The Las Vegas firm has announced a line of remote control electric golf trolleys to change the way golfers approach a five-mile golf course.

The company says there are benefits to using a follow-along caddy which is motorized. The enjoyment of playing golf is enhanced when there are no heavy bags to carry or to drag around behind the players. The weight of the bag is heavy enough that it can drain strength, and most people cannot afford a human caddy.

Motogolf offers two of the top designs in motorized golf caddies: the FTR Caddytrek CT2000BA and the British-made Stewart X9 Lithium Follow. Each has advantages and disadvantages. They each are small enough to fold down and fit in a trunk. The Stewart weight two pounds less than the Caddytrek at just over 31 pounds. The Stewart has a slightly lighter lithium battery and has a warranty of 24 months, twice that of the Caddytrek. Conversely, the Caddytrek has a 440 Watt motor compared to 280 watts for the Stewart. This factor can affect how well the caddy performs on a hilly course.

The appearance of the two devices is the only major difference between the two products. The Caddytrek is a motorized golf caddy and the Stewart resembles R2D2 when loaded with a bag. The Stewart caddy is more expensive.

The purchase of an electric golf caddy means the clubs can be transported from the car to the play area on the course. There is no need to rent a motorized golf cart and hiring a caddy is no longer a requirement. The company says that muscle strain is reduced. The appliance operates by the link between the remote and the caddy. This allows the caddy to follow, or to be sent ahead.
