The practice was started July 6, 2001, by co-founders Bethany Fishbein, O.D., and Jonathan Fishbein, O.D., after beginning their career at other practices and feeling like they had something more to contribute. They wanted to create an optometry practice where the team, patients, and entire community were treated like family.

Since Day One, Somerset Eye Care has been known for using cutting-edge technology as the foundation for its modernized care. Their equipment includes ultra-accurate tech like optical coherence tomography imaging, wide-angle retinal photography, a top-notch autorefractor and topographer for seeing every detail and contour of a patient’s eyes. It allows them to detect certain diseases, like age-related macular degeneration, before symptoms emerge.

“We have had a blast working with the community and getting to know our patients on a personal level,” said Dr. Bethany Fishbein. “But we don’t want to rest on our laurels; we’re always looking ahead, and we’re always trying to find new ways to improve the high-quality eye care that our patients have come to expect. That focus on our patients’ quality of life is part of our commitment to the people we serve.”
