Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol recovery facility in Anaheim, California, hosted its alumni members at the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. This annual holiday cruise has been a tradition for the facility's alumni, and this year was no exception. The event brought together current and former clients with the Lighthouse staff to celebrate the holiday season and continue supporting each other in their recovery journeys.
Peter Davidson, President of Lighthouse Treatment Center, expressed his support and appreciation for the alumni community at the event, saying that the Lighthouse family makes sure that their alumni are well taken care of, even after they complete their treatment programs.
"Our alumni are an important part of our Lighthouse family. We are grateful for their commitment to their recovery and it brings us immense joy to see them thriving in their lives after treatment. Hosting this annual holiday cruise is our way of showing our support and celebrating their successes," said Davidson.
The Lighthouse alumni community has been a source of inspiration and motivation for both clients and staff members. By staying connected with fellow alumni, individuals are able to continue strengthening their recovery skills and maintain a sense of accountability within the supportive community.
"The Newport Christmas Boat Parade has always been the highlight of the year," said Heidy Hunter, Alumni Coordinator at the Lighthouse Treatment Center. "It demonstrates to those in recovery how to rediscover the joy of life and actively participate in it. I feel truly blessed and privileged to be a part of this incredible event!"
Alain, a proud Lighthouse alumni, shared his heartfelt sentiments about the event. According to him, the happiness and sense of belonging he feels at the parade is unlike anything he has ever experienced.
"There's really no better way to ring in the 2023 Holiday Season than by spending quality time with friends and fellow members of the Lighthouse Alumni. This wonderful occasion, filled with joy, love, and laughter, not only creates enduring memories but also propels me forward in my recovery journey. My deepest gratitude to my Lighthouse family," said Alain.
John, another member of the Lighthouse Alumni Program, also expressed his gratitude for the program and the opportunities it provides.
"I am so grateful for the Lighthouse Alumni program which allows me the opportunity to do things I've wanted to do, like the Newport Beach Christmas Lights Boat Parade. I appreciate the ease of registering for the event, and that everything was taken care of. I just got to show up, relax, and enjoy myself. I was able to see and catch up with friends I made while at the Lighthouse and enjoy the sight of all the beautifully decorated boats and homes. It was a memorable evening. Thank you," said John.
Throughout the year, the Lighthouse Alumni Program is dedicated to organizing a series of events aimed at supporting alumni on their recovery journey. These events serve as a platform for continued connection, motivation, and celebration of progress.
From holiday cruises to watching sports events, the program ensures that opportunities for engagement are abundant and diverse, catering to different interests and preferences. Each event is carefully planned with care and consideration, allowing participants to focus solely on building relationships, improving their recovery skills, and enjoying the moment. These initiatives underscore the Lighthouse Treatment Center's commitment to long-term recovery and community building.
