Inverell, New South Wales -

Ausmate Australian Cobberdogs, a registered breeder based in regional NSW, is urging local families and individuals to look at and adopt its Australian Cobberdog puppies by visiting its website at https://ausmatecobberdog.com/.

Excellent as an assistance and therapy dog, the Australian Cobberdog is gentle and very focused on its human. They hardly shed and their coat has little to no odor. The genetically healthy breed gives humans plenty of eye contact, is intuitive to their needs, does not bark excessively, and is also very trainable. A miniature Cobberdog ranges from 14-16 inches, a medium-sized Cobberdog ranges from 17-20 inches, and a standard-sized Cobberdog ranges from 22–24 inches. Their coats can be in a range of colors including brown, cafe, blonde, white, red, black, gold, and parti-color.

The spokesperson for Ausmate Australian Cobberdogs, Kerry Wyburd, talks about what makes the breed special by saying, “Unlike other breeds, the pedigree of an Australian Cobberdog can be fully traced back. While all breeds are a mixture of different breeds, the individual dogs that are used to breed the Australian Cobberdog are fully genetically tested. So, you can always know what “went into” the Australian Cobberdog to make them the breed they are today.”

She continues, “As a breed in development, dedicated breeders across the country are working right now towards predictability. To ensure full transparency, every Australian Cobberdog is registered with the MDBA (Master Dog Breeders and Associates) which holds the Global Registry for the breed. So, if you think you are buying an Australian Cobberdog but you cannot be provided with an MDBA pedigree, then you are not buying an Australian Cobberdog.”

Breeders in Australia are particularly excited with their progress toward perfecting the breed’s coat. At this stage in the development, the Australian Cobberdog has curly wool coats to wavy fleece coats. All types can be within the same litter, and each has its own benefits. All coats seem to repel dirt and rarely have a doggy odor. If the coat were to get soiled during a mud bath on a rainy day, once the mud dries naturally, it falls off and disappears. With continued DNA testing, eventually, the breed will have a predictability of low to non-shedding, easy-to-care-for coat. All non-shedding dogs need to be clipped twice per year and require a regular brush and comb.

Currently, as of the time of writing, Ausmate Australian Cobberdogs has a puppy available for sale for $6,000. The female was born on 20th October 2023 and has a medium chocolate coat. Ausmate is also accepting applications for a waitlist for an upcoming litter due March 2024. The puppies in the next litter will be small medium and medium in size with coats ranging from chocolate, blonde, and possibly white with colors. Interested readers can submit the application by heading over to its website at https://ausmatecobberdog.com/puppies/ and following the link to RightPaw.

They are raised with love, gentleness, and mental and physical stimulation to make them the ideal partners through the tough times and the rough ones.”
