Mount Clemens, Michigan - October 27, 2023 - PRESSADVANTAGE -
Detroit, MI, — Lacroix Eye Care has announced that Dr. Tessa Fredal, an esteemed and experienced optometrist, is accepting new patients. Building on the legacy that her grandfather established in 1939, Dr. Fredal is committed to enhancing LaCroix's standard of patient care and reinforcing its dedication to outstanding eye care services. Located at 136 Cass Avenue, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043, Dr. Fredal’s inclusion to the LaCroix Eye Care team will reduce patient wait times and enable her to offer her new perspectives on disease management and specialty contact lenses. She will also help reinforce what LaCroix is known for in northwestern Detroit: a family-oriented approach to vision care.
“It’s very exciting to be able to work alongside my daughter,” said owner and operator of LaCroix Eye Care, Dr. Ann LaCroix Fredal. “She grew up watching and learning the ins and outs of the family practice, so she’s well-equipped to meet the incredibly high standards we set for our patients. She has a brilliant mind and extensive training, and I know our patients are in good hands with her.”

Growing up in a family of eye doctors has given Dr. Fredal a deep understanding of eye care, and her academic training is indicative of her innate talents. She earned double bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Dance Performance & Choreography at Hope College, graduating summa cum laude. Then she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. During her time in optometry school, Dr. Fredal embodied the LaCroix community focus through her philanthropic work with the Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity and Remote Area Medical to provide free eye care to needy families in Tennessee and Alabama.
“Dr. Fredal has brought a great deal of industry-forward knowledge and expertise to the practice, especially in regard to her ability to treat dry eye,” said Dr. LaCroix Fredal. “It's great to have a new eye doctor who is already deeply familiar with what makes the clinic special. We’ve built our legacy on providing high-quality care with kindness to those who need it, and Dr. Fredal is perfectly suited to carry on that legacy.”
Dr. Fredal completed internship rotations in Louisville, Kentucky, and the Birmingham VA, where she gained specialized training in retina, cornea/cataract, pediatrics, and binocular vision disorders, as well as the treatment and management of glaucoma and dry eye disease. She also has extensive experience in specialty lens fittings, including scleral lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, and specialty soft lenses for myopia management.
When she’s not serving the community or actively practicing, Tessa enjoys exploring her lifelong passion for dance. She likes supporting the arts by attending modern and ballet dance performances, as well as golfing, skiing, walking her dogs, and spending as much time as possible with her family.
