EL SEGUNDO, CA, September 18, 2023: — In a spectacular gathering of automobile enthusiasts and history aficionados, Big Bear Lake hosted the 19th Annual Porsche Timeline Exhibition on September 16, 2023. Orchestrated by the esteemed Porsche Club of America – Riverside, the event witnessed the attendance of over 90 illustrious Porsches, driven by representatives from various prestigious Porsche Clubs, including Riverside, San Diego, Palm Springs, Gran Prix in Long Beach, CA, and San Gabriel.

Founded in 1955 by Bill Sholar, the Porsche Club of America (PCA) began as a small gathering of enthusiasts but quickly blossomed into the thriving community it is today. Sholar’s vision was simple: create an organization where Porsche aficionados could come together to celebrate their shared passion for the brand. With just 13 members in its nascent stage, the PCA held its inaugural meeting in the parking lot of the Washington, D.C. Polo Club.

Today, the PCA stands as the largest single-brand club in the world, boasting more than 130,000 members across North America. The organization hosts a myriad of events ranging from car shows and driving tours to technical workshops. Beyond events, the PCA publishes a magazine, "Porsche Panorama," which delves into everything Porsche – from the latest models to historical retrospectives. Through the decades, the PCA has not just preserved the legacy of Porsche but has fostered a vibrant community, united by a shared passion.

The meticulously organized Porsche Timeline exhibit seamlessly presented the majestic lineage of Porsche automobiles, starting from 1953 and spanning up to the present day. Detailed data sheets, reflecting the rich history and notable features, accompanied each model, allowing attendees to delve into the stories these iconic vehicles narrate. Furthermore, placards elucidating the features of the different models served as educational touchpoints for visitors.

Amidst this grand assembly, Rally4Vets marked its first-ever participation with their iconic 2001 Porsche Boxster, aptly named the "Porsche with a Purpose." The vehicle, beyond its aesthetic appeal, symbolizes Rally4Vets' unwavering commitment to supporting the disabled veteran community, advocating for their needs and challenges.

Said Robert Hess, Rally4Vets founder, “America's disabled veterans have given so much in service to our nation. It's our collective duty to stand by them in their time of need. I am profoundly moved and grateful for the unwavering support of the automotive enthusiast community, who continuously rally behind our mission. Together, we drive change."

Complementing the automobile display, Big Bear Village's Oktoberfest celebration created a lively atmosphere, with attendees indulging in authentic German cuisine and perusing merchandise from local vendors.

Gratitude is extended to the event's esteemed sponsors: Porsche of Riverside, Porsche of Ontario, and the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, whose contributions were instrumental in ensuring the event's success.

Looking ahead, the Porsche Club of Riverside has charted out grand plans for 2024, envisioning an unparalleled Porsche jamboree that aims to showcase over 500 Porsche cars. The forthcoming gathering promises to be an event par excellence, and one that automobile connoisseurs must eagerly anticipate.
