Greenland, New Hampshire-based Addiction Recovery Services (ARS) has the self-stated mission of providing accessible and effective group therapy, family education, and medication management for addiction and mental health symptoms. All of which are provided by compassionate licensed professionals. The reputable rehab facility does this through the many inpatient admission, intensive outpatient, and aftercare services it offers. It's also a recovery center that believes in educating those in its area on many addiction-related topics. A good example is ARS’s newly posted blog that discusses the causes that often lead to a fentanyl overdose. A representative of this rehab clinic stated, “We are a recovery center that has become very concerned with the rapid spread of fentanyl use in our area and the frequency of overdoses that are occurring along with that. Some of which lead to death. That’s why we decided to post a blog that discusses what the highly addictive drug fentanyl is and why using it so often leads to an overdose.”

This newly posted blog, titled ‘Everything that You Need to Know about Fentanyl Overdose’, started by describing what fentanyl is - a synthetic opioid that is lab created and is normally prescribed to treat patients with severe pain. It comes in many forms which include pills, patches, or injections when prescribed and a liquid, powder, or packed into a pill when provided illicitly. When found in powder form it can easily mimic the looks of less powerful drugs such as cocaine or heroin and this is what often causes fentanyl overdoses. It’s also impossible to detect its presence when other drugs are laced with it. The blog then discussed why fentanyl overdoses happen. One such reason is many people with substance use disorders don’t realize that this synthetic opioid is 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. Just 2 milligrams of this drug are more than most people’s bodies can handle. This newly posted article also gave the sobering statistic that some 150 people a day die from fentanyl overdoses. The blog went on to mention ways to spot a potential fentanyl overdose, what to do in the aftermath of a fentanyl overdose, and why it’s important for those managing a fentanyl use disorder to seek professional treatment right away. This ARS blog post can be read in its entirety on this rehab center’s website.

ARS’ representative added that those who wish to know more about the fentanyl and other substance abuse treatments that they offer can contact them 24 hours a day by phone. That phone call will always be answered by a licensed substance use counselor. He noted that the ARS clinic is located inside the Seacoast Mental Health Center complex in Greenland, NH which is a suburb of Portsmouth. Addiction Recovery Services’ facility is also just a short drive from many locations in New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northeast Massachusetts. It was also stated that everyone that comes to them seeking recovery assistance will be treated according to ARS’ core principles which are respect, choice, treating the person instead of just the problem, and doing everything possible to prevent and manage resumed use (relapse).

People that have sought help from Addiction Recovery Services to get on the path to recovery often praise this rehab center’s treatments in reviews. Britany Sewell says, “The team at ARS went above and beyond in helping with my recovery. Their attention to who I am as a person, not just an addict, was deeply appreciated. I am full of gratitude for everything they did and continue to do for me.” Katarina Borghoff proclaimed, “I attended many IOP programs before finding this one and this one was by far the best. The program was great I felt really comfortable there and the staff was the best I’ve ever worked with. I’ve been sober for over 3 years since attending and I am lucky I found them.” Dennis Ginnow’s 5-star review reads, “Thank you ARS for everything that your organization does. It was hard for me to admit that I had an addiction, but your staff was a huge help in my recovery and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone struggling with addiction.”
